Why are you doing this?

Because we can! Journey games are entirely non-commercial, volunteer-run events. An ephemeral gift of experience art for the players and participants.

Is this some sort of advertisement?

No. Journey games are entirely non-commercial. We have no sponsors, and are not part of any advertising campaign.

I already have plans for Silvester. Can I still play Journey?

Absolutely! We expect most players to be able to complete this Journey in 2-4 hours, or by 23:00. This should leave you plenty of time to be somewhere else by midnight. Of course, you are also free to stop playing Journey whenever you wish. Even if you don't reach the endpoint, participating in a Journey game is a lot of fun.

Are you throwing a party of your own?

Yes. We are holding an awesome Silvester party at the endpoint of the Journey.

One of the best parts of a Journey game is getting together to share the stories of your adventures with your fellow players. The endpoint party is a perfect way to do this, and celebrate Silvester with music, drinks, and of course plenty of [REDACTED].

Is there an age requirement to play Journey?

No. While most of the players in previous games have been between 19-35, participants of all ages are welcome. The game is somewhat physical however, so it's best to be in good shape. If the idea of running around outside at night for a couple of hours doesn't deter you, you'll probably do fine.

I'm not much of a runner. Can I still play?

Absolutely. Stealth is just as valid a strategy as speed. In previous games, many runners have succeeded by simply being cautious and alert, and making good use of public transport. While such a strategy likely won't result in a 1st Place finish, it can be a good way to successfully elude the chasers, and finish the game uncaught.

Who's responsible for my safety?

You are. When playing Journey, use common sense and be safe. Don't endanger yourself or others, don't break laws or do anything stupid. Each participant is solely responsible for his or her own safety.

Is this fun?

Absolutely. Although the rules of the game are very simple, the experience that results is highly complex, and very enjoyable. For locals, Journey games provide a fun and unusual way to experience the familiar landscape of their everyday lives. For visitors, Journey games are a truly unique way to explore and discover a new place. For everyone, the game is a great excuse to reconnect with the simple joy of PLAY.
